Cuban card checker

Type the first digits of a Cuban bank card and we tell you its currency, product, issuing bank and the QvaPay method used to send money to it. Like a BIN checker, but for Cuban cards.

The first 4 digits already tell us currency and product; with 8 we also know the bank; with all 16 we verify the check digit.

Everything runs in your browser: the number is never sent to a server or stored. Open catalog of Cuban card prefixes, v0.5.2 (2026-10-21).

What each digit means

RED network cards have 16 digits. The first 4 already give the product and currency; the first 8 also give the bank. The Clásica (9760) and AIS cards (9550, 9560) do not follow this structure.

1–2

Every known prefix

Banks launch new products every few months. If your card is missing, QvaPay still accepts it on withdrawal when the bank is known; report it and we add it to the catalog.

Frequently asked questions

What is a BIN checker?
The BIN (Bank Identification Number) is the first digits of a card, which identify the network and the issuing bank. A BIN checker reads them and tells you what card it is before you move money. In Cuba, digits 3 and 4 also give the currency and the product.
How do I know whether a Cuban card is in CUP, MLC or USD?
From digits 3 and 4. CUP products use 00, 02, 04, 05, 06, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 24, 27, 33, 34, 37, 38, 44 and 48; USD backed by MLC uses 25, 26, 28, 29, 35, 45 and 50; 9240 (“Tropical”) is prepaid USD and the Clásica starts with 9760.
How do I know which bank issued a Cuban card?
From digits 5 to 8: 0699 is BANDEC, 1299 is Banco Popular de Ahorro and 9598 is Banco Metropolitano. The Clásica is issued by FINCIMEX and AIS cards by American International Services; on those, digits 5 to 8 are not a bank code.
Why does QvaPay reject my card number on withdrawal?
Because it fails the check digit (a mistyped digit or two swapped ones), because it is an account number rather than a card, or because the card belongs to another method: an MLC card cannot be paid through the CUP method or vice versa. This tool tells you the right method.
Do you store the number I type?
No. The checker runs entirely in your browser against a public prefix catalog; the number is never sent to a server or stored.
Where does the data come from?
From an open, sourced catalog maintained by QvaPay and the community on GitHub: official bank notes, the Havana citizen portal and cardholder reports. It is not an official source of any bank.

Sending money to a Cuban card?

With QvaPay you transfer to CUP, MLC, Clásica and prepaid USD cards from your balance. Check each method’s fees before you start.
